Our chef de cuisine Harald Rindler is considered an artist when it comes to creating new and original menus for our guests on a daily basis. Guests may enjoy their meals on our sun terrace, in the restaurant, or in the cosy parlour.

Many of our long-term guests became aware of our ski hotel because of the reputation of our extraordinary food and then kept coming back for more. Over time, the Seekarhaus has become a popular meeting place for gourmets in Obertauern. As an award-winning chef, Harald Rindler manages to surprise and inspire guests at the Seekarhaus with his creations on a daily basis. Whether he uses fresh herbs or long-forgotten fruit and vegetable varieties, combining traditional dishes with modern accents, he always manages to come up with something special. You will be spoiled with the best ingredients available and your meal will be rounded off with an excellent drop of wine from our cellar.

Besides the food, it is of course also the ambience that makes a meal enjoyable. This is why our large sun terrace is where the action is in good weather. From here, you will have a spectacular view of the rugged mountain tops and the Obertauern national park. In the evenings or when the weather is bad, our guests are pampered in the restaurant or in the charming parlour.

Chef Harald Rindler: cooking is a lifestyle!

As a luxury 5-star ski hotel in Obertauern, one of our aims is to provide our guests with refined culinary delights. Harald Rindler’s passion and dedication will leave an impression on any gourmet. He doesn’t see cooking as a mere profession; he sees it as a lifestyle. “I can’t not think about cooking. No matter what I do, I am permanently inspired,” says Rindler. The Hallein native (a town near Salzburg) loves to spend time in nature, where he collects ideas for his original recipes.

  • Sumptuous, balanced breakfast buffet from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., with breakfast specialties that change every morning. If ever you wish to sleep in, with advance notice we are also happy to offer you our “Late Riser’s Breakfast”
  • Afternoon snacks from 3:30 to 4:30 in our Beatles Bar with hot and cold treats and a choice of desserts
  • Children’s meals and a Kids’ Buffet from 6 p.m.
  • From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.: 6-course gourmet menu selection with salad buffet and wide variety of cheeses
  • Once-weekly dessert buffet and appetizer buffet
  • Out on our sun terrace with tableside service as well as in the Pulverturm, we offer an extensive à la carte menu from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Table reservations are accepted until 12 p.m.
  • Exclusive, separate smokers’ lounge and cigar selection
  • Wellness area with all-day tea & juice bar, fruit and Seekar spring water

Let us spoil you in our Vinothek à la carte restaurant where you can choose between a four- and six-course fine dining menu, awarded with two Gault Millau toques and two Falstaff forks!

At lunchtime, from 11:30 until 15:00, we offer you a wide selection of traditional as well as international dishes.

Table reservations are accepted until 12:00. You can choose between the Seekarstube with its cozy fireplace, or a table out on our beautiful sun terrace, perfect for whiling away the hours since the terrace is exposed to the sun until late in the afternoon. Our skilled service team will provide you with everything your heart desires.

Sit by the crackling fire in our spacious hotel hall and enjoy a cocktail – or two – after a fun day. After all, our bartenders are true masters of their craft. When you stop by the Beatles Bar, full of lovingly collected memorabilia, you just might find hotel owner Gerhard Krings sitting and reminiscing about when he played guitar with George Harrison during the filming of the Beatles’ film “Help”...

By the way: fans of a good cigar will find a separate smoker’s lounge at the Beatles Bar.
